Tom Vernon - I Try EP

With his third contribution to the Lost Palms catalogue, UK based producer Tom delivers a masterclass in his signature deep, ambient, and melodic style, this time with a clear nod to the dancefloor. Following from his previous works, I Try EP sees Tom refine his sound, offering six tracks that blend intricate musicality with a propulsive club energy. The EP kicks off with 'Pour It,' an immediate immersion into Tom's world, characterized by plucky melodic synths, wide, spacious strings, and groovy percussion that sets a sophisticated tone. The title track, 'I Try,' follows, featuring a thumping bassline and classic 909 drums underpinning expansive, ethereal pads, creating a meditative yet driving vibe. 'Unfolding' takes a more emotional turn, offering a pensive middle section designed for deep contemplation, showcasing a more minimal and reserved side to the production. The collaboration with So Anne-So on 'Around Her' continues the emotional depth, layering atmospheric pads with catchy drums for a deeply moving experience. The EP then rounds off with two ambient interpretations of 'Pour It' and 'Unfolding', offering stripped-back, atmospheric versions of their original counterparts.
